Talkdesk survey: 74% of holiday shoppers will use AI assistants, but only 15% will let an agent pay
Talkdesk's 2026 AI Holiday Shopping Survey of 1,048 US shoppers and 312 retail leaders finds 74% plan to use AI assistants for holiday shopping and 49% would buy from an unfamiliar brand on an AI recommendation, yet only 15% would let an agent use their payment details after a review step. Retailers are further ahead: 89% have planned for agents buying on shoppers' behalf, while 58% report AI errors in the past year.
